Charity Golf Tournament features 144 participants

Montgomery, PA, June 18, 2014 – Gemma Power Systems, LLC (GPS) sponsored and hosted a golf tournament at White Deer Golf Course in Williamsport benefitting Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc. The charity tournament raised $38,000 for the organization which provides financial assistance on behalf of Pennsylvania veterans wounded in the line of duty, their families, or Pennsylvania veterans with medical emergencies.

“A large part of the project experience we provide is the positive and enduring effect we have on the local community. We’re extremely pleased to support the Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors organization as it serves the compelling needs of the veterans of Pennsylvania. We’d like to thank our customer, Panda Power Funds, our joint venture partner, The Lane Construction Corporation, and our many subcontractors and suppliers for joining us in this fundraiser,” said Daniel L. Martin, President of Gemma Power Systems.

“We’re thrilled and so very grateful to Gemma Power Systems for making it possible to reach even more veterans and their families,” said Helen Sajer, president and founder of PA Wounded Warriors. More than 1,200 veterans were assisted by the organization last year, according to Sajer.

“Because we are an all-volunteer organization, 96 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to support our wounded veterans and their families with a variety of vital expenses not covered by their disability checks,” she said.

Gemma Power Systems, through a joint venture with Lane Construction, is the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contractor for the 800 MW Panda Patriot power plant being constructed in Lycoming County, PA. Engineering, procurement and construction activities are in full operation using many local suppliers and skilled craft workers. Up to 500 skilled craft workers will be employed at the site at peak construction. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
