The Maple Hill Solar project, located on a 480-acre site, will be constructed using over 235,000 photovoltaic modules, provided by Talesun, to generate approximately 100 MW of electrical power. The modules will incorporate the latest bi-facial technology and utilize single-axis tracking to maximize energy production. The facility is expected to begin generating electricity by July of 2022 and when completed will be larger than any solar facility presently operating in Pennsylvania.
The Maple Hill facility will avoid the release of over 100,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year by displacing older, less efficient generation and will add to the clean energy mix in the Commonwealth.
The project will employ 250-300 workers at peak construction and will bring significant local tax benefits to the area.
