Charity Golf Tournament features 148 participants

TOWANDA, PA.  June 18, 2014 – Gemma Power Systems, LLC (GPS) sponsored and hosted a golf tournament at Towanda Country Club benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bradford County, PA.  The charity tournament raised $50,000 for the local organization which serves Bradford, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties in Pennsylvania and Tioga County, New York.

“We believe in giving back to the communities we work and live in and are extremely pleased to support the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization which does so much for the youth of this area.  We’d like to thank our client, Panda Power Funds, our joint venture partner, Lane Construction, and our many subcontractors and suppliers in joining us for this fund raiser,” said Daniel L. Martin, President of Gemma Power Systems.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters is astounded with the generosity of Gemma Power Systems for organizing a golf benefit on our behalf,” said Kristy Griffith, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bradford County.

“We believe this is the largest single donation made to our organization in its 22-year history and it will support our mission of providing children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally-supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever,” said Griffith.

Gemma Power Systems, through a joint venture with the Lane Construction Corporation, is the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contractor for the 800 MW Panda Liberty power plant being constructed in Bradford County.  Engineering, procurement and initial construction activities are well underway using many local suppliers and skilled craft workers.  Up to 500 skilled craft workers will be employed at the site at peak construction.  The plant is scheduled to be completed in early 2016.
