Kings Mountain, NC, November 21, 2017 – Gemma Power Systems, LLC sponsored and hosted a recent golf tournament at The Deer Brook Golf Club in Shelby, NC benefitting the Kings Mountain Rotary BackPack Program and the Life Enrichment Center adult day care program.
Each of the organizations will receive a check for $44,500 to support their programs. The Rotary BackPack program is a national program that provides nutritional meals for the weekend for disadvantaged children. The Life Enrichment Center provides health care and adult day care services. The center serves adults with physical and/or age related challenges such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, heart disease or stroke as well as younger adults with physical challenges such as Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome or accident-related injuries.

Gemma Power Systems is the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contractor for the 475 MW Kings Mountain Energy Center on Gage Road. Construction and commissioning activities are on-going using many local suppliers and skilled craft workers. More than 300 skilled craft workers are employed at the site. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2018.
